CP says no?!

It looks like getting permission from CP (Canadian Pacific) is going to be harder than expected. Emily from Sprout Out Loud! was just turned down by Michel Spenard who says CP doesn’t allow events on their properties.
Again, how much longer will these be their properties?
And, is this just an official response that comes with no enforcement?
I mean, it is pretty clear they have all but left the field abandoned, free to the whims and fancies of pyromaniacs, transients, and whoever else has an interest in cleaner air and horizon (such as us!).
Of course, by not granting permission they make the hosting of events very precarious at best, since no one wants to invite folks and artists to an event only to have said event broken up the day (or night) of.
So what now?
Does anyone other than me feel that CP has a lot nerve telling us to stay off of property that they don’t even set foot on? Especially when this property happens to be a vital space in our neighbourhood, and for Montréal?
My first response is to say, “To hell with them.”
I kind of think my second response is pretty much the same sort of thing.
More tomorrow…
